ABOUT THE BOOK 

This book is the creative output of 20 faculties to provide the concept of Soil Science in relevant to Agriculture in a simple way. The main driving force behind writing this book is the need for simplified text book to meet the needs of graduates of agriculture and allied sectors. This text essentially covers the syllabus of Fundamentals of Soil Science suggested by ICAR and most agricultural university. This book encompasses of 24 chapters and 18 annexures, which covers basic concepts on component and properties of soil in relevance to Agriculture. Each chapter starts with a gist of outline which elaborates the contents inside the chapter. The added advantage is the expected question annexed at the end of each chapter which facilitates students in visualizing the examination question. The language used is so simple with the idea that this text should reach the slow learners. Entire text is well illustrated with needy diagrams and pictures in order to ensure happy reading. Colour pictures provided at appropriate places aids better understanding.
